I was not a close friend of Donna's in high school. My condolences to her family.
When I read Donna's obituary as posted on the website, I was mesmerized by all she accomplished in her life. She didn't seem to have wasted a minute. And she must have been a very humble person, based on the limited info in her CSHS profile. I am so grateful for the posting as I would've never known of her accomplishments and the meaningful life she led. It really made me think that, as we get older and lose more and more touch with each other, the chances of someone passing without being aware of who they grew up to be and what they did become greater. Despite her family's loss, I am very uplifted to read of Donna's accomplishments and of her relentless desire to pass on her knowledge to others.
I also have fond memories of hanging out with Randy. Always calm and easy to get along with, never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I can't even remember him raising his voice. Always a smile on his face. And that twinkle in his eyes that Wanda Kay referred to was spot on. After college we got together in Colorado a few times and discussed how we might use our geology degrees to work together. Randy had big plans for doing oil and gas and mineral exploration with a new concept he had come up with. We lost touch at some point. I will always remember Randy as a kind and gentle soul.
